The evolution of technology in the past few years has significantly impacted jobs across organizations and the skills needed for them. Consequently, organizations now look for professionals that are adaptive to the changes in technology and competent to manage their redefined job roles and have the right skills desired for their roles. Though companies adopt different workforce management solutions to ensure this, they often fail to optimize the workforce’s effectiveness as their focus is more on compliance and cost-effectiveness measures. Hence, what enterprises need today is to integrate workforce management with skills management so that employees across organizations are adaptive to the changing organizational needs. That is what SkillsLogiQ is doing for businesses by providing an enhanced skills management environment through their own version of a Learning Experience Platform (LEP) to deliver a deep learning support environment that focuses on performance improvement and learning 'in the flow of work'.
It focuses on extending support to employees to identify and prioritize their skill gaps and develop the required skills that would help them in their career growth and ensure better business outcomes for the organization. SkillsLogiQ utilizes machine learning and data analytics to retrieve employees’ individual skills data and identifies the target skill sets needed for a role. SkillsLogiQ provides a two-fold proposition: assisting organizations with better workforce management; and, supporting individuals’ to learn in the flow of work. “We enable the building of workforce capability through supporting the 'competency-based workforce' at the same time as supporting the individual through targeted skills development and lifelong learning that also directly aids learners in job performance improvement,” mentions Dr. Peter W. Beven, Co-founder and Board Member at SkillsLogiQ, who is also a faculty member of the Queensland University of Technology's Graduate School of Business and the Director of Open Professional Education. SkillsLogiQ offers a unique skills management environment that provides end-to-end skill development through a true Learning Experience Platform. With its data analytics and machine learning capabilities, the skills data of individuals, teams or entire workforces, inform the content provisioning and engagement to support individuals in their lifelong learning journey.
SkillsLogiQ provides the only end-to-end workforce competency development and management solution combined with enablers for social learning that has a focus on performance improvement
The platform's plug-and-play application ecosystem enables employees to connect to a virtual learning space or ‘Capability Academy’ comprising peers and leading academics to improve their job performance. This provides both engagement, experience and collaboration tailored to the needs of the individual by integration with existing organizational tools and applications.
The unique focus on performance is also supported by digital diagnostic tools to provide dynamic guidance for on-the-job performance improvement. “SkillsLogiQ provides the only end-to-end workforce competency development and management solution combined with the enablers for social learning that has a focus on performance improvement,” adds Dr. Beven.
To illustrate their success, he elaborates on how SkillsLogiQ demonstrated the ability to support capability-building for the L&D professional through a professional association partner, the Australia Pacific Institute for Learning and Performance (APILP). As a result, SkillsLogiQ enables the ‘ILP Capability Academy’ through provisioning of a skills passport for individual professionals with embedded competencies aligned with the skill profiles of standard industry roles for the profession allowing competency-based career mapping.
APILP can now further support its members through academic engagement along with access to learning design libraries, ability to measure organizational learning maturity, and virtual mentoring.
“Our approach to assisting this client helped through a progressive implementation of the platform at a scale and rate demanded by 5,000 APILP plus professional members,” mentions Dr. Beven. The effectiveness of this model is further demonstrated by the recent announcement of another industrybased client, the Australian Information Industry Association— the peak industry body for employer organizations across the ICT industry in Australia—for the creation of the AIIA Skills Hub for Australia's 700,000 plus digital workers.
This model is being extended across public and private sector enterprise clients with models to minimize, or even eliminate, up front IT investments. In a nutshell, SkillsLogiQ is creating a new paradigm for corporate learning by moving well beyond the simple push of content, to creating dynamic learning experiences that are personalized, ondemand, and has a focus on performance improvement where individuals and organizations can grow together.
